Signals for campuses

Signals for college and university campuses.

Class scheduling, access control, building automation, work orders, space inventory and cameras each answer part of the question. Signals reads them together and helps facilities, space planning and operations act.

Operating questions

Start with the question. Then the data that answers it.

Which rooms are booked but empty?

Booked against actual use, by room and by hour, with a weekly list to space planning.

Reads: class schedule · occupancy · access events

Where are we heating and cooling empty space?

Setback recommendations for the facilities lead to approve, or to run on a rule you set.

Reads: building automation · occupancy · event calendar

What is about to fail?

Equipment readings and service history read together, with a work order drafted and the evidence attached.

Reads: sensors · work orders · service history

Is the space we have the space we need?

Use across terms, by building and room type, as evidence for capital planning.

Reads: space inventory · occupancy · class schedule

Cameras are one source among several. Where a campus has them, Signals can count without identifying anyone.

Procurement

Short answers for the security review.

Identity

Off by default. Signals counts and measures. Identity features are turned on only where the institution chooses, policy and law allow, and it is agreed in writing.

Student records

Signals does not need student records to run. If an institution connects a system that holds them, that data is handled under the institution's instruction and its FERPA obligations.

Your data

Stays the institution's, to access and export. We do not train on it by default.

Where it runs

Cloud, on campus, or split between them, chosen with you for each deployment.

Security questionnaires

We complete HECVAT and the institution's own review during procurement. SOC 2 Type I begins when an engagement requires it.
